Reinventing the home you already love…

Reinventing the home you already love…

when you love the location and want to dwell there for decades, but it’s ready for some updates…

It can be extremely intimidating to make huge changes to a home AND maintain your favorite aspects. Where to begin, what if we don’t like it, and how do we keep the personality we sought out?

Project Sage Roses had two main goals: to maintain the home’s architectural spirit and to reflect the owners’ personalities. Architect Scott Taylor and Designer Elizabeth Ryan reimagined the entire interior of the home, stairs and bathrooms moved, the kitchen was relocated. Aesthetically, nods to the original home design are reflected in the diamond-paned windows and a timeless color palette. Elizabeth shied away from straight neutrals – this home sings with color.

While some architectural details were salvaged, a brand new color direction was sought out. Elizabeth Ryan Interiors created a fresh palette completely different than how the home had previously been designed.

Function, flow and form were all updated for the family’s style and needs:

While we were all about staying with the home’s architecture – the new design really needed functional updates.

A brand new, well designed kitchen opens up opportunities for the family to gather.

The kitchen size was doubled and laid out thoughtfully. In the previous layout, the owner was removed from family gatherings each time she needed to spend time in the kitchen. The updated plan allows for her to be in the mix – even when mixing.

Cheerful Color – a wide range of colorings, ALL selected to make one smile.

We love light and bright, we love crisp, we love vibrant. We can use them all, we just need to balance ’em.
